Jollibee Ad Campaign

DESCRIPTION

Jollibee wanted to give their food advertisements a fresh and seasonal look to align with the upcoming menu updates. The existing designs were due for a revamp, and the goal was to modernize the visual identity while keeping the fun, approachable brand essence intact. As the Junior Art Director, Photo Editor, and Graphic Designer, I was responsible for refreshing the overall branding and creating dynamic assets, including logos, typography, design elements, and food photography that aligned with the seasonal theme for each product.

CHALLENGES

The challenge was to refresh Jollibee’s branding while staying true to its iconic identity. Each menu item needed a unique seasonal look while maintaining consistency with Jollibee’s playful and vibrant brand style. It was essential to create designs that were visually dynamic but also communicated the essence of each dish—whether it was the beachy, tropical vibe of the Aloha Burger or the fiery intensity of the Spicy Chicken. Moreover, ensuring that every detail in the food photography met the client’s high standards added an extra layer of complexity to the project.

GOAL

To design a fresh visual identity for each of Jollibee's seasonal dishes, including a new logo and typography elements, while maintaining a cohesive brand style across all advertising materials. This included creating dynamic and eye-catching designs that were versatile for both print and digital ads, ensuring they worked effectively for posters, banners, and animated digital content.

Takeaways

RESULTS

I designed new branding elements and logos for each menu item, aligning them with the seasonal theme. The Aloha Burger had a tropical, beachy look, the Spicy Chicken featured fiery, bold design elements, and the Tuna Pie showcased a modern, fresh aesthetic. On photoshoot day, I collaborated closely with the photographer to ensure the right lighting and angles, using creative techniques like suspending ingredients for dynamic shots. In post-production, I carefully retouched the images to meet the client’s exact requests. The final visuals were used in print materials, digital ads, and an animated Spicy Chicken ad, effectively engaging the audience.

LEARNINGS

This project reinforced the importance of clear communication and collaboration with both the client and photographer. Managing the photoshoot under tight deadlines and ensuring every detail met expectations helped me refine my skills in food photography and editing. It also highlighted the need for a strong, consistent branding foundation that works across various media platforms.
